Oh Man! Good news to the people that support me and have stuck with me and my photography for a while now. I will be showcasing my work at a gallery, Piano Factory, tomorrow. Showcasing eight pieces that range from black and whites to color. The theme was called “exposure” with a sense of fashion. I wanted to do different mediums such as leather, color, and also play with multiple exposures as well. I am showcasing my work with three other photographers as well. I was really hesitant at first but my good friend Sofia Snow recommended I do it (she actually threatened me! lol). Our work will be up until the month of April. I look at this as a stepping stone. A foundation that has been placed and now for me to build on top of it. For years I left my work has no merit because I have been self taught but with the support of friends, family, and people that have dreams…I know that my journey is just beginning.
Had the opportunity to capture some portraits of a newly added friend Jessie. Portraits are becoming more and more natural for me. I like working with people to capture their personalities and their expressions. She allowed me to work within her surroundings and I was able to capture the type of photos that expressed herself as well as me being very happy about these pics overall. Hopefully I can work with more models, friends, and people that really want to either take superb pictures, work on their dream, or have a love for photography such as myself.
Things are progressing smoothly as more and more females are taking part. I’m just very thrilled and honored that everyone is taking subject to this project. I can recall when I had the idea originally at the train station watching females bring out their eyeliners and mascara which got me to thinking of a project where I should shoot girls wearing nomakeup. However this would not be an easy task. I asked my friends to help me with project and though some reluctant , they were willing to help me and the results were amazing. The freedom of not wearing makeup and allowing yourself to express freely about whether or not you love or hate it is something I take pleasure in capturing through photos and reading their thoughts. To all the ladies that have participated and will participate in the future, Thank you Regards, S.Osemwenkhae

With working a nine to five job, taking photos, working on video projects, and going to the gym can be taxing. However, I am finally able to release some new work in my second Photo Series featuring Model Ali Zenga who was an absolute pleasure to work with. I wanted to do a series with bright colors and some black &whites. She was able to help me capture what i wanted with her creativity and professionalism. The camera I used was a Nikon D90 along with 2 strobes. I usually try to find new ways to shoot but I wanted a simple setup that didn’t involve two many lights plus the weather being cold in Massachusetts does not help. All her images were exactly as I wanted. Clean and simple with some added flare. Click here to view the Photo Series II: Ali Zenga

This year has started right thus far. Working on new photography projects for the summer, learning to use different techniques when shooting, going back to film, and working on different creative photos and videos with artists around the world. The first project is with the graceful and ever so talented Lisa Bello. A talented musician who has and sings with an old soul and I’m very much looking forward to working with her on the various projects that will be happening in the next couple of months. So far we have had one photo session in which I used my stock lens for my Nikon. Christina Elfar helped with the hair, makeup and location of the shoot. The shoot was very basic but wanted to get across an emotion that would sent the tone for her future project coming very soon. One strobe and one umbrella was used to capture these photos. Look for her site and my site to showcase them very soon.

So A friend contacted me about shooting a wedding a few months back. I have done more than a handful of weddings for friends but get really nervous when asked to work with people I am not familiar with. With respect for the person that introduced me to the wonderful couple, I was more than happy to do it. The Wedding took place in Lenox, MA and was held at a nice golf and spa resort. The wedding was small which allowed me to capture certain moments a little more easily than I would larger weddings. Lighting was not as hard to work with as I had originally thought. The wedding started at 4pm and I arrived around 3pm when the sun was still out. During the winter time you are afforded so little time as sunset sets around 430/5pm. For this purpose I always bring an extra light and battery pack with me in case they want outside shots. Its important to always be prepared as a photographer for anything. I am still working on selecting the best photos and also working on my wedding site titles thankyoufortheinvite.com that will be ready by February.
